*The previous performance of Dark Star was on 12/31/81 at Oakland Auditorium, and it would not be performed again until 10/9/89 at Hampton Coliseum, making it the Dark Star with the most years before and after it in terms of an overall gap. Does this make it the quintessential Dark Star breakout? Perhaps adding to its quintessentiality – apart from a synchronized meteor shower – the last outdoor Dark Star was on 8/1/73 at Roosevelt Stadium, nearly eleven years earlier; and the last (and only) time it was played at the Greek was on 10/20/68. With a very fine performance of the song and an extra hot show all-around, this was indeed a very special night at the Greek.
